Water Color Wonders

If you haven't checked out the summer line by Matthew Williamson, this needs to change! As a designer for several fashion icons (M.I.A., Beyonce, Sienna Williams - just to name a few), Matthew Williamson has designed several ultra feminine pieces that are ideal for any girl's summer wardrobe.

What appears to be inspired by watercolor paintings, each item can be purchased through www.josephm.com - a gold mine of designer goods.

Here are a few of the Fashion Business Association's favorite pieces:

1. Aqua Print Knit Cardigan
This cute cardigan can be worn casually with skinny jeans or to bring color to a day dress.

2. Feather Print Silk Dress
Whether it's a night on the town or a formal event, the feather print silk dress shows that its wearer is stylish with a subtle exotic print. The FBA recommends pairing it with a great pair of strapped sandals and solid colored clutch.

3. Aqua Chiffon Shirt Dress
This chiffon shirt dress is a great way to maintain a chic yet laid back look. Not only does it look comfortable, but the versatile silhouette allows the wearer to accessorize to show off their individual sense of style.

4. Blue Chiffon Halter Neck Dress
Ideal for any summer getaway, this chiffon halter dress is flattering for any body type. Its various shades of blue may remind wearers of the cooler, more relaxing side of summer.

5. Silk Chiffon Draped Dress

Feeling daring? Try a draped dress! This silk chiffon draped dress has a sophisticated plunging neckline, so show off your favorite necklace and pair with a great pair of heels.

Tanners Alley Tour

The fashion business association was invited to attend a tour of local leather shop Tanner's Alley.

Tanner's Alley was opened in 1976 and is currently located on High Street in Morgantown, West Virginia.

The owner used all sorts of textiles on his goods - including alligator!

Some fabrics were so soft - ideal for this worn and rugged look.

Not only does Tanner's Alley specialize in leather goods, they also offer several accessories and a shoe repair service.

FBA loved seeing the behind the scenes tour - it was amazing that behind the selling space was such a well developed work shop!

Trunk or Treat 2011

This year, FBA participated with several other student organizations of WVU in Trunk or Treat. Trunk or Treat is a great way to give the community's youth a safe, convenient way of trick or treating. Each club gathered in the Colisieum parking lot and decorated a vehicle to hand candy out of. Students went with a theme per vehicle and dressed accordingly.

In years' past, FBA has done a Cinderella and Barbie doll theme so this year we took advantage of all the super hero movies that have been recently released (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Green Lantern) by doing a Super Hero theme!

FBA Members pictured: Christina Gapen, Kellie Crane (Super Girl), and Kristina Pellien (Jean Grey)
Not pictured: Spiderman - who was a giant success with kids of all ages.

Children and college students alike loved getting their pictures taken with as Superman or Wonder Woman.

Here's to another great year!
